Specifics of working with autistic clients in weekly residential care

The bachelor thesis deals with the specifics of the work with autistic clients in the weekly residential care of the Autis centrum, o.p.s. organization here in České Budějovice. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses mainly on the concept of autism and what is related to this concept. An integral part of the work is the introduction of the weekly residential care service provided by the organization. The practical part consists of qualitative research, which is carried out using semi-structured interviews with direct care workers in the weekly residential care.

The Users´Satisfaction with Provided Services in the Weekly Care Center Domov Žlutý Petrklíč, z.s.

The topic of this bachelor thesis is to determine the satisfaction of legal representatives of users of facility services with the services provided by the weekly care centre Domov Žlutý Petrklíč, z.s. The theoretical part is focused on three basic areas. The first section deals with primary information about social services and about satisfaction. The next chapter analyze the weekly care centre Domov Žlutý Petrklíč, z.s. In the last chapter I deal with the target group of people with disabilities, characterise the various types of disabilities, focus on the family, the lives of these individuals, communication and care of people with disabilities. The practical part evaluates the results of the research, the aim of which was to determine the satisfaction of legal representatives of service users in the weekly care centre, which services should be implemented for the benefit of people with mental disabilities or people with combined disabilities in the Domov Žlutý Petrklíč, z.s. Within the project the main research question, together with six partial research questions, was determined. The project used qualitative research technique to achieve its purpose. The method of semi-structured interview was used for data collection and the research is carried out using the technique of creating bunches. The research showed that although it is a facility that has been in full operation for only a few years, satisfaction with the services provided is really high. The staff and the pleasant environment in which the care center is located was praised during the research. The results also showed that the facility could consider the possibility of activities such as canistherapy, hippotherapy or some other form of rehabilitation for clients. Although lower funds, which could be used in the framework of the introduction of new activities, are considered as a weak point, based on the results, we could much more consider the food provided by the facility as the weak point, since it received the most comments. Overall, this research showed satisfaction with the services provided as well as it showed that all communication partners speak of this device as a solid one with high quality of services provided. At the end of the work it is stated what benefit this research can have towards the examined care centre.

Identification of the extent of necessary support provided to children and adults with physical and combined disabilities

The bachelor thesis is focused on identifying the extent of the necessary support provided to children and adults with physical and combined disabilities within day care centres and week care centres. The aim of the work is to find out how the necessary support is implemented for these users, to find out which methods are used by social service providers to determine the extent of the support, how the necessary support is transformed into individual planning, and how individual planning works within the regular practice of the social worker. The theoretical part of the thesis describes physical and combined disabilities, defines the work of the social worker and social services, evaluation and overview of the necessary support provided to children and adults with physical and combined disabilities and it also contains chapters focused on individual planning. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis, a qualitative research survey using the method of semi-structured interview has been carried out, and a sample of respondents from the social workers working in day or week care centres in the Czech Republic have been approached. Research questions on methods of identifying the extent of the support needed for children or adults with physical and combined disabilities and methods of using these findings in the individual planning of the course of the social service have been identified. Respondents' responses have been processed by the open coding methodology.

Comparison of activity of social worker in selected social service facilities

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compar aktivity of social worker in selected social service facilities in South Bohemian Region. The research questions were focused on whether there are differences in the activities of social workers and what these problems are. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis were selected qualitative research, polling method and semi-structured interview technique. A total of 7 different social service facilities from the South Bohemian Region were selected through a register of social services providers of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic based on quotas selection. The selected facilities are: low-threshold facilities for children and youth, field program, professional social counseling, weekly care centre, early care, social-active service for families with children and retirement house. The research file consisted of 8 social workers from individual facilities. The obtained data was processed by the cluster method. The research shows that the comparisn of activity of social workers is most distinct in the target group of the facility. The most paperwork have social worker in retirement house and least paperwork have social worker in low-threshold facilities for children and youth. In some facilities the social worker performs the same work as a caregiver and the only difference between them is the level of responsibility for the work done, especially in the administration. The bachelor thesis can be used for study purposes. The results of the research can also serve to make future social workers more aware of the differences in the content of work in selected social services facilities.

The transformation of social service the weekly care centre

The point of my thesis is to describe the process of transformation social services of an Day and Week Care Center Jihlava. The data for practical part this work I has been gathering since spring 2013 till the day I finish my work. As respondents was selected from 28 users of Week care center. That is the maximum limit of this local service. In the theoretical part of my thesis I focuse on process of the deinstitutionalization and transformation defining social services (Week care-center and Safe Housing) and try to depict past and present situation specificaly in Czech republic and European Union. In the practical part of my thesis I describe process of transformation of social services Week care center provided by Day and Week Care Center in Jihlava. The basic method used in my research is structured interview recorded in questionnaire form called "Judging measure of a Service for Safe Housing". At last but not at least I analyze documents directly linked to process of transformation of selected service. The research of my thesis answered both quetions. First of all is "Are the users of a Day and Week Care Center prepared to procceed to comunity service of Safe Housing ?" and is solved by evaluation of necessary measure of support for users. The answer on researching question is that 4 users from 28 are able to procceed to comunity service of Safe Housing. For the answer on the second question "Is it possible to create comunity service in Jihlava in next 5 years ?" I try to find an answer throughout whole process of transformation project. I come up with a conclusion to answer that creation of comunity services is possible. Results of my thesis can be used for selected organization as the summary of selected process of transformation. Also results can be used as the source of information even for more social services providers and for public they are interested in.
